The heater in the house keeps kicking on.

A good friend of mine turned me onto this website.
It's' a great site full of helpful recipes for non-toxic home cleaners.
I've always enjoyed making up a bucket of suds then spending a few hours cleaning the house. I use there all purpose cleaner recipe and add a squirt of liquid soap for a bit more cleaning power.

I wrote her telling her that I would like to take on her challenge. She accepted so here we go. I do hope I can do her challenge justice. I have the love of shopping totally against me. Shoes, clothes, you name it. I am though this year realizing that I have to much stuff as I think we all do.It will be nice to cut back on purchases. This shall be fun because I do love to thrift as well. There are quite a few places to haunt here in Phoenix and it will be fun to visit them all with the hopes of some really fabulous finds.
So with that said let the shopping begin. I mean thrifting....

To a Zonie like myself it feels more like the Valley of the rain .... and the temp may be a measly 52 degrees outside. It feels more like 32 . Rarely do we get the chance to sip on HOT tea and cuddle up in a blanket and want to watch an old movie in the middle of the day (bummer wish that could have been me) LOL . It's been a week of wet weather here in the desert and lots of snow in the high country !
We have probably had more rain this week than we get in one entire year !

With a weeks worth of clouds, rain, wind and colder weather ... I was able to spend some time with my beloved sewing machine and hook . In an attempt to create some new items for my neglected shop ... Hopefully the weather will cooperate just long enough for me to snap a few photos, we will see (not much light for good photos right now).

I seems to me today that I've been running around in circles.
I think that I am trying to accomplish something today but failing miserably.
Yesterday was a very good day though in that I finally put away and stored the Christmas tree...it's decorations... and what I believe to be the remainder of the holiday joy.

As you can clearly see not much has been posted about anything crafty.
Lots of ideas floating around in my head and a few in the works, but nothing really accomplished quite yet. Soon I hope I need to get some item's for purchase in that Etsy Shop of mine. Until then have been having the best summer. This last week My husband, myself and my youngest spent two lovely days at ours friends water park which of course includes its own lazy river. Conveniently plopped right in there back yard. We had a blast of course. Hope to be invited back soon.

My Cory who saved all his pennies to spend a week snowboarding in Whistler B.C. took a fall 1 day into his trip and broke his arm. Trying to get this day going not to mention this week. It's been slow to start but I did want to share a couple of things. I finally finished my son's Tooth Monster. He thinks it's pretty cool, so when the next tooth decides to fall out we will be ready. The other item I wanted to share is my new crafting toy. It's the new Cricuit Expressions machine. It's amazing! I really bought it as a birthday present to myself. Whoo hoo! Can't wait to see what it can do.

As I busily pluck away at all the clean up the last few days have brought me. I can't help but wish I was enjoying a cup of iced tea by my pool basking in the warm AZ sun. Don't get me wrong I have the best time spending a long extended weekend with my friends and family. It's just clean up is always such a chore. Plaid flannel, linen and block print are for a Tooth Monster that is in the making for my youngest son who just lost his first tooth so I better get onto making that one up. The numbers are to be sewn on to his Scout uniform. Yes, my little one is now in Scouts a Tiger Cub to be exact. Will post photos later. He is just to cute I'm telling ya!!!

Living in an area of the US that really does not change seasons. The Fall is probably my favorite time of year. It's usually a pretty long hot summer here in Phoenix so we look forward to the first signs of cooler weather and I may be jumping the gun on this one but I do think that they are here.So with that being said it's time to pull out the Halloween decorations and get ready for Fall!Whoooo Hooooo! Don't you just love it! Yes, I do! Thank you for asking. LOL

Good Morning and what a wonderful day it is. Yet another trip to Mexico!!!
It's the annual girls trip South of the border. No husbands, no kids, and as much as we love them all it's a wonderful thing being able to spend some quality time with some crazy kick ass friends. Well here's a few projects that I am attempting to start (key word). Photo includes one of my new block printing designs. My kids are now on the 3rd week of school and I am still trying to start a project.I had such big plans to dig right in as soon as school started. Bin a bit busy though
and haven't gotten to anything quite yet. Still working on that skirt too.......... maybe
by next summer?!!! LOL

I finally got around to making up a couple clothesline bags for my
Etsy shop. They turned out fabulous with just the cutest retro fabric.
Wish I could find more, but no such luck yet. If anyone out there now's

Its a chain thing

It's been busy around here. The end of another school year and the boys have now progressed to Seniors 1 in college 1 in High School and a 1st grader. SENIORS!!! 1ST GRADER!!! WOW!!!
Summer is almost here and the southwest is heating up and should hit 100 today. That's OK, it's now Summer Vacation Pool time, Beach time, Lake time, a trip to Seattle to visit my family and a Birthday to celebrate come August. Speaking of birthdays that's all my little one can think of, is his 6Th birthday. He has started making plans for his party and is also making this chain (that grows daily) to decorate the house with. This little boy rocks!

Back from a wonderful weekend south of the border once again. Cinco de Mayo is not celebrated really in Mexico, but you no us Americans there is always a reason to party with some good friends. It was also an enlightening trip. We handed out clothes to families down by the dump. We were all very much touched by the spirit of these people.

It was time for a little R & R with my husband, son, and some good friends. So off to Mexico we ran. Nothing like
an extended weekend to rejuvenate ones battery.

These are really very powerful. Implement whatever you can.

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the
ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have
to.

3. Buy a DVR and tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My
purpose is to __________ today.'

5. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

6. Play more games and read more books than you did in 2007.

7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, tai chi, and prayer. They provide
us with daily fuel for our busy lives.

8. Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

9. Dream more while you are awake.

10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is
manufactured in plants.

11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan
salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13. Clear clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and
flowing energy into your life.

14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of
the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest
your energy in the positive present moment.

15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are
simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class
but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college
kid with a maxed out charge card.

17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

18. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

22. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

23. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey

Today has finally arrived. I'm now a blogger with my very own site.
Woo Hoo !!! I am so excited. It's been a long time coming, and thanks to

a push and shove from my good friend Angela
I finally did it. I have for years admired women out there for starting up craft blogs.
Giving inspiration and a little bit of themselves to all of us each day. I hope
